Professor Dr Rainer Zeichhardt on the Business Administration course
“Successful companies and managers often exert a lot of fascination in real life. In the context of the Business Administration course, we take a peek behind the scenes of success, in which we illuminate the operational creation of value from various perspectives. We consider structures and processes as well as the behaviour of people. We look at the hard figures as well as the qualitative criteria. We locate companies in the complex environment and grapple with the demanding question of how it is possible to succeed in conducting business efficiently, both economically and socially.
Graduates of Business Administration are all-rounders who can have a career in various business sectors. At the BSP you will be an all-rounder and a specialist at the same time by being able to specialise in a seminal, sector-specific occupational field: set-up and SME management, health management or hotel management. You will thereby acquire an extra qualification which will further increase your employability. You will experience: “Business administration is an exciting application-orientated and applied science”.
The Business Administration course imparts holistic business competences with a focus on the central level of operational value creation and its interdependencies: in the course you will deal with the functionally important aspects of business administration (from procurement via production to marketing and sales) and with the sub-areas of the spheres of value processes (accounting and controlling, investment and financing).
As optimal operational value creation can only be achieved in practice when the operational control of an enterprise displays a high level of quality, the phenomenon of management has a special position in the Business Administration course. The conceptual framework here is the management process from planning via organisation, personnel and leadership to control.
In addition to management expertise, you will acquire important methodical skills in the course and, for professional purposes, indispensable soft skills through tailor-made training sessions.
At the BSP, we see Business Administration as an application-orientated and applied science. Therefore, in the framework of the Business Administration course, the theoretical models are constantly tried and tested on the basis of case studies and simulations and applied and reflected on concretely in practice by the students through two obligatory project study phases. The students obtain an occupational-orientated professional competence in this.
The special feature in this area of professional competence is the option of choosing between three promising professional fields:
Job Prospects Business Administration
Because of their well-founded basic knowledge in business administration and management and the practical experience obtained in the project studies, the graduates of the course have the best possible prerequisites for being employed successfully in the typical business administration, function-related occupational fields, such as, for example, marketing, accounting, personnel management.
The special feature of this course is that, in addition to a general business administration education, you can specialise in the optional area on a promising sector-related occupational field. You thereby acquire an additional qualification, which increases further your employability.
Moreover, through the bachelor’s degree, you also acquire the precondition for further study.
